Which patio material is best?
The best material depends on architecture, budget, maintenance, drainage, freeze-thaw exposure, desired appearance, and adjoining surfaces. Compare the complete installed system, not just material price.
Why do patios settle?
Settlement can result from subgrade, base, drainage, excavation limits, edge failure, roots, utilities, or water movement. The cause should be considered before relaying the surface.
Do retaining walls require engineering or permits?
Some do, based on height, loading, location, drainage, and municipal rules. The scope should identify when engineering or permit review is required.
Can lighting be installed at the same time?
